How can LGBTIQ advocates and organisations improve how we work together on local, state and Australia-wide issues? How do we share resources? How can we better organise and connect to have a collective impact?
LGBTIQ community organisations and advocates are invited to discuss how we can better work together to achieve change for our community.
We are very excited to announce that Victoria’s Gender & Sexuality Commissioner Ro Allen will be a guest speaker at the event. Ro is a longstanding advocate for LGBTIQ people, established a rural support group for LGBTI+ youth, has received a Centenary Medal and was the inaugural winner of the Australian LGBTI Awards Hero of the Year in 2017.
Ro will be joined by speakers from the Equality Campaign about how to get involved in the Yes campaign for marriage equality and from Shine SA about mental health supports for the LGBTIQ community during the postal survey.
This event will be run in partnership with volunteers from the PwC GLEE Network, Collective Impact and Three for All Foundation, who are conducting broader research on this issue around Australia.
Don’t forget to complete the National LGBTIQ Community Impact Survey before the event.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP here by 25 September 2017.
